This is a nice piece. I'm hesitant to critique someone else's work for fear of offering insult, and I'm all too aware of my own limitations so please forgive me if I say something you feel is out of line. I believe you asked for a critique in a particular spirit and I want to join you in that. I already commented that this reminds me of a Ralph Steadman work and I believe that is a great thing. There's a loose quality to the drawing as a whole while still giving the impression that you have control of the medium. The line work in and around the creatures face is really well done. The shape of the beak and the ellipse of the eye, with the finer lines within it are perfect. I like the splotches throughout and the loose lines in the lower left of the drawing as well. I find the heavy black bridge ( apologies if it's not what you intended) at the tip of the beak distracting. The figure and the lines in the upper left strike me the same way. I think the drawing would be better balanced without them. Also, the lines between the tree limbs don't seem to have been drawn with same care you exhibited over the rest of the piece. Overall this is a really good work with some beautiful line work that has me looking forward to more posts from you. I was impressed with your drawing "Nature Took Them First" as well. All the best...
